After months of gravitating toward neutrals, I’ve found myself craving something a little more alive. Maybe it’s the promise of upcoming travel, or the general mood-lift that summer brings, but suddenly color feels essential again. And there’s no better place to rekindle that love than Palm Beach.

The town itself is a visual feast: pale pink buildings, bright green palms, and bougainvillea that tumbles over fences in every shade of magenta. It’s no surprise that this sun-drenched slice of Florida was the birthplace of Lilly Pulitzer, a brand that has become practically synonymous with bold, happy prints. Wearing this citrus-hued floral dress on a warm evening in Palm Beach felt not only appropriate, but deeply energizing.

There’s something about color that changes your whole outlook. I noticed it in the way I walked a little taller, smiled a little easier, and blended right into the backdrop of swaying palms and coral-painted walls. This particular dress, with its vivid greens and crisp white trim, reminded me that fashion doesn’t always need to whisper. Sometimes it’s okay to let your clothes do the talking.

With trips to both Palm Beach and Barbados on the calendar, I leaned in. I’ll still always love a good navy stripe or a camel trench, but there’s room for splashy florals and playful hues too. It feels good to give color its rightful place in my wardrobe again, especially when it comes with so much sunshine and nostalgia. Here’s to stepping outside the color comfort zone. And here’s to Palm Beach, for reminding me how fun it can be.

Love from Palm Beach,
Katie
