Fresh Releases, Volume 12 (Gal Meets Glam)

Cream Tie Shift Dress || Grey Polo Sweater Dress || Beige Peplum Shift Dress || Navy Print Shirt Dress || Floral Boho Dress || Burgundy Belted Shift Dress

The queen of feminine style, Julia Engel, has come out with her latest collection for Gal Meets Glam. The colder it gets, the harder I find it to style cute dresses. This collection opens up a whole world of possibilities. Most of them can be layered with either a sweater or a pair of warm leggings. There are so many cute options, but here are my favorites. I already ordered one, can you can guess which?

Cream Tie Shift Dress

Here’s my vote. White after Labor Day is OKAY, especially when it’s in such a gorgeous shade of cream. The long-sleeves and tie detail make it so elegant for fall. I’m thinking it would look great paired with a pair of rich suede riding boots.

Grey Polo Sweater Dress

There is something so simple about this dress that I absolutely love! I can’t say if it’s the polo style, pleated skirt, or sweater material, but it’s really speaking to me. Even though it’s a traditional style, I haven’t seen anything like it recently, making it so unique! Color me intrigued.

Beige Peplum Shift Dress

I will always have a love for drop-waist, peplum dresses. You would think with my long torso, it wouldn’t work with my body type, and my husband may agree with you. I still love them though and this dress is no exception. The high neckline looks so darling with this sweet little bow detail.

Navy Print Shirt Dress

If you guessed that this was the dress I already ordered, you know me so well! Navy is my absolute favorite color, but it’s the accent colors in the geometric pattern that really sold me. The long-sleeves are perfect for colder weather and I can’t wait to wear this on a crisp Fall day in New York City.

Floral Boho Dress

This dress was my runner-up. I talk frequently about my love for refined boho style and I think this dress fit the bill. Billowy sleeves are made more flattering by the ruched neck and waistline. It helps makes the dress forgiving for a wide variety of body types.

Burgundy Belted Shift Dress

One of my favorite colors for fall, I couldn’t leave out this stunning burgundy dress. Even with a plunging v-neck, I find it modest enough to wear to work or even a semi-formal wedding. The matching belt is such a great touch that adds a lot of character to an otherwise simple item.

Happy shopping!

Katie

A New York Minute with Jord Watches

A New York Minute with Jord Watches

A New York Minute with Jord Watches, NYC, watch, wood, Cora, gold

It seems like everyone in New York is always in a hurry! Seeing a mass of people power walking to get to their destination is just an average commute. That’s because NYC runs on a slightly different schedule than the rest of the country. Everything is just so incredibly faced paced here. Timing out the traffic lights and subways is practically an art form. To juggle it all, it’s important to have a great watch that will look good and help you keep track of it all. My New York minute is powered by my JORD Watch.

Any outfit doesn’t feel complete without a watch of my wrist. It’s genuinely an accessory I can’t live without, both for style and function. JORD (pronounced Yode) was so kind as to send me this stunning watch from their new Cora Polaris collection. This brand is incredibly unique because they use high-quality wood to make classic watches, with a twist.

I was absolutely floored when I saw this automatic wood watch in person. Typically, I’m not a rose gold kind of girl. Nearly all of my jewelry is yellow gold, but the rose gold paired with rich walnut and a midnight blue face makes for a beautiful combination. So much thought and detail was put into this beautiful wooden timepiece. Hand-seated Swarovski crystals are embedded into the face to create a ‘Little Dipper’ design. Since the materials come from nature, why not add more nature-inspired influences?

To really attest to the quality of the watch, there are two more features that a true watch lover will absolutely appreciate. First, the watch is a self-winding automatic. That means no pesky batteries to worry about. You can catch a little glimpse of the watch movement from the front of the watch, but the real show is on the back. All of the mechanics can be seen there. Also, the face is covered by a scratch-proof sapphire crystal. Second, in hardness only to diamonds, it guarantees that your watch will continue to look pristine on the first wear or the thousandth. It is a true collector’s timepiece!

Even with all of the glitz and glamour, it’s still an extremely versatile piece. The wood materials keep it casual enough to wear every day and the crystal details elevate it for a day at the office or night out. It also comes in three other color combinations, each more gorgeous than the last. Besides my midnight blue watch, I’m very partial to the yellow gold and turquoise combo.

As part of my collaboration with JORD, I’m also hosting a little giveaway that you just can’t miss out on! One lucky reader will receive a $100 gift card to pick the Jord watch of their choice. Besides the Cora Polaris, they have many other watch styles for both men and women. If you swear by your Apple Watch, they have specially designed bands for that too. Their next venture includes sunglasses and baseball caps, but I’ve heard that a line of handbags is also in the works too.

Fresh Releases, Volume 11 (Vineyard Vines)

Fresh Releases: Vineyard Vines, new arrivals, fall, Newport, sweater

Cream Fisherman Sweater || Mixed Media Sweater || Striped Cableknit Sweater || Patchwork Tasseled Blouse || Pinstripe Maxi Dress || Off-the-Shoulder Bardot Dress

Some of my favorite bloggers enjoyed a stunning week at the Ocean House with the Vineyard Vines team. I am equal parts jealous and inspired. So many great nautical outfits, so little time! Vineyard Vines has been one of my favorite brands since high school and that’s still true now. Here’s a quick roundup of my favorite new arrivals!

Cream Fisherman Sweater

This is a classic piece to have for a northeastern fall. I used to have a really similar sweater from J. Crew, but I wore it to pieces. This pick would be the perfect replacement and great to pack on my trip to Newport next weekend.

Mixed Media Sweater

Yes, this is another fisherman sweater, but with a twist. It’s all business in the front and a little party in the back. The back is really a pinstripe Oxford material, helping to make it a cooler option for those days when it almost feels like summer still.

Striped Cableknit Sweater

This is the last sweater today, I promise! Last year, even though it was my first “real” winter living in the north, I know I didn’t have enough sweaters to last me the season. I need to stock up now! I love the idea of layering this navy and red striped combo over a navy gingham button-down shirt. It would make for a healthy dose of print mixing.

Patchwork Tasseled Blouse

It’s not too late to wear a light and breeze blouse! This patchwork print is just too darling to save until next summer. Wear it now under a navy blazer and a pair of dark wash jeans to help it transition into the next season.

Pinstripe Maxi Dress

I would have to say that blue is my signature color. Because of that, I’m an absolute sucker for a new blue, eye-catching dress to add to my closet. This maxi dress checks off all the boxes for me. From the pinstripe fabric to the navy trim, I’m in love! This is another piece I hope can make it’s way into my suitcase for Newport.

Off-the-Shoulder Bardot Dress

This off-the-shoulder is simply stunning! I happened to try it on earlier this week and have been thinking about it ever since. The body-con like material is so flattering, but more importantly, it’s surprisingly comfortable too!

One more note. We’ve all seen the devastated in the Bahamas caused by Hurricane Dorian. There are so many different ways to help, but shopping can be one of them. Since the Bahamas has a very special place in their hearts, Vineyard Vines has come out with a special collection where 30% of the proceeds will go to the relief effort. Definitely take a look!

Happy shopping!

Love from NYC,
Katie
