I told y’all this dress would be back. I bought this little, navy number from LOFT back in September and just felt like I didn’t have enough opportunities to wear it before the season turned into winter. When I saw it in stores the other week, I was flooded with inspiration to bring this perfect summer dress back into the current season.

When wearing a dress in the cold, tights are a MUST! There’s just no negotiating on that. I originally wanted to go monochromatic with my warm and cozy navy tights, but I was gently told that I looked like a blueberry. That’s clearly not the look I was going for. So, I opted for these grey sweater-style leggings I picked up from H&M. They’re great because they are so warm, but still feel extremely lightweight.

Feeling major Parisian vibes with this outfit, how I could not add the cutest little beret from LOFT? It’s amazing how something so small can make such a huge statement. The grey is a great color option because it goes with absolutely everything, but I’m hoping to add a few more versatile colors to my rotation.

Since I was feeling fabulous and French, the MET Museum seemed like the perfect location to debut my new outfit. David and I decided to take the plunge and become members. It’s the best decision we’ve made since moving to the city. There is inspiration at every turn and I will probably be there as often as my schedule will allow.

In my adult life, it has become increasingly rare that my mom buys me clothes ‘just because’ anymore. Besides for Christmas and birthdays, she knows that if I want something, I’ll probably just buy it myself. That being said, when she does surprise me with something, it feels extra special.

When I was home last weekend, there were a few things I knew I needed to bring home with me, but this sweater, from Old Navy, was the sweetest surprise of all! It may just be a little something she picked up while she was out shopping, but I absolutely love it! I mean, it’s perfect for keeping me warm during this cold, NYC winter.

The fairisle design is detailed with silver flecks and paired perfect with my silver heels from ASOS. Sadly, this sweater is completely sold out, but I linked this similar sweater from Talbots. A fairisle sweater, in any color, is always a good staple to have in your closet. It is the epitome of winter style and, usually, some of the warmest sweaters you can find.

My mom is probably the blog’s biggest supporter! She reads every article and serves as my unofficial proofreader. We also have an extremely close relationship and it feels so nice to feature her and talk about her. She happens to be extremely camera shy, which I clearly didn’t inherit, but Mom, this blog post is for you!

If your mom is always there for you, definitely appreciate who you have! My challenge for you today is to give your mom, or anyone in your cheering section, a quick call to let them know how much you love them. I’m almost certain it will be the highlight of their (and your) day!
