Gift Guide: Little Girls

Gift Guide: Little Girls

Gift Guide, Holidays, Christmas, Little Girls, Kids, Gifting, Presents, Buffalo Plaid, Old Navy

Dress (similar) || Wrap || Heels || Clutch || Earrings

I’m a teacher at heart. Even though I’ve been out of the classroom since September, I just couldn’t pass up on a gift guides for the little ones. While we don’t have any kids of our own yet, it wasn’t tough for me to envision a list for little girls out there. Honestly, I just thought back to what I used to ask for. If you’re a mom, aunt, or just have a little girl to shop for, here’s a quick gift guide for you.

LILLY PULITZER Minnie Elephant & Matching Classic Shift Dress

This gift is an adorable two-parter. Admittedly, they will probably be more excited about the stuffed elephant, but mom will be smitten over the matching dress. To really go above and beyond, this can be a whole family affair. Get matching pieces for mom and dad too!

OLLI ELLA Rattan Trunk

When I was a kid, I had a little rolling Minnie Mouse suitcase. It was my pride and joy! I loved packing it up and going on pretend trips. Clearly, not much has changed. I still have a passion for planning and packing for trips around the country and world. This rattan trunk is a modern day version of that. Fill it with a costume and that little girl’s imagination will begin running.

ANTHROPOLOGIE Bea the Bohemian Stuffed Doll

Isn’t she beautiful? Soft enough to cuddle with at night, the little girl in your life will cherish this doll for years to come. Her look is modern and sophisticated, but still attainable. It can help instill a laidback mindset in a sometimes superficial world.

ANTHROPOLOGIE Breeds: A Compendium Book

This book directly speaks to the kid in me. I couldn’t get enough of dogs when I was little, or now. I think for every Christmas, I would ask for some sort of dog related book. Quiz me on breeds. I probably know a good majority of them!

Gift Guide, Holidays, Christmas, Little Girls, Kids, Gifting, Presents, Buffalo Plaid, Old Navy
LITTLE PEOPLE, BIG DREAMS Maya Angelou

As a teacher, I tried to fill my classroom library with books about aspirational men and women. The Little People, Big Dreams book series has a long list of leaders and dreamers for young kids to learn about. Let’s get back to raising up those who actually deserve our adoration.

VANS Classic Checker Slip-In Sneakers

It’s never too early to start a young girl’s epic shoe collection. Every PE teacher I’ve met will tell you, tying shoelaces for kids who don’t know how can be a pain! Vans sneakers are perfect for running around and are virtually trip free. This rainbow checkered print is a fun take on the classic.

J. CREW Long-Sleeve Sundae T-Shirt

The next time she says “pretty please with a cherry on top,” she can actually look the part This t-shirt from J. Crew is absolutely darling! I can’t think of a little kid out there who wouldn’t love a t-shirt that looks like ice cream.

SMARTLAB TOYS All Natural Spa Lab

Women need to get more involved in the science fields and it all stars when they’re very young. This All Natural Spa Lab teaches about chemistry while making spa-inspired items like body scrubs and lip balms. Let her experiment alone or have a bonding spa day together. The choice is yours!

Gift Guide, Holidays, Christmas, Little Girls, Kids, Gifting, Presents, Buffalo Plaid, Old Navy

With technology absolutely everywhere, I think it’s important to take the emphasis away from electronics through gifting. The world still needs thinkers, readers, and little girls with all the confidence in the world. The journey starts now!

Gift Guide: Hanukkah

December 8, 2019

Gift Guide: Hanukkah

Gift Guide, Hanukkah, Holidays, Star of David, Winter Style, J. Crew

Turtleneck || Pants || Heels || Beanie || Similar Handbag || Earrings || Bracelet

I want to start this blog post off with a quick disclaimer. I’m Catholic, but have still attended my share of Bar Mitzvahs and Hanukkah soirees. Holiday gift guides always seem to be greatly stilted towards Christmas, but I want to make sure that my Jewish readers have a little something to identify with. The first night of Hanukkah is still two weeks. That’s plenty of time to get ready for the Festival of Lights with a quick gift guide.

DYLAN’S CANDY Dreidel Chocolate Box

The dreidel is a game that needs no introduction. I’m ready for anything where the stakes are chocolate. These dreidel boxes from Dylan’s Candy are already loaded with milk chocolate gelt and dark chocolate stars to begin the celebration in the sweetest way possible.

KATE SPADE Oak Street Menorah

Menorahs come in every style and color imaginable. Especially since moving to New York, I’ve seen some absolutely stunning displays. This gold menorah from Kate Spade is a classic style with a modern twist.

Gift Guide, Hanukkah, Holidays, Star of David, Winter Style, J. Crew
VINEYARD VINES Hanukkah Pocket T-Shirt

I love that Vineyard Vines has gotten more and more inclusive with their t-shirt designs. This tee is perfect for the kid in your life. If you know a grown-up who’s still loves a fun graphic tee, they have a men’s version too.

TENTH & PINE My First Hanukkah Organic Cotton Bodysuit

If you have a friend with a recent addition to the family, how sweet is this little bodysuit from Tenth & Pine? The organic cotton is both eco-friendly and as soft as can be. This would make for such a thoughtful gift.

Gift Guide, Hanukkah, Holidays, Star of David, Winter Style, J. Crew
FUN SOCKS Dreidel Socks

I am tortious for buying David novelty socks. Even though I don’t wear them for myself, I get such satisfaction in adding a new pair to his rotation. He can look all business for work, with just a pinch of quirky. These dreidel socks will give off the same message too.

CUFFLINKS, INC. Star of David Cuff Links

Am I the only one that thinks cuff links will be making a major comeback? This pair is extremely subtle and in a striking silver that will go with everything in a man’s wardrobe.

WILDFOX Sommers Everyday Get Lit Cotton Sweatshirt

Wildfox seriously has the best sweatshirts! Although they are little bit of a splurge, they are the softest materials and have fun little sayings. The oversized fit would be great for a lazy day at home or will even work for a holiday party in a pinch.

BRACHA Star of David Stud Earrings

If I celebrated Hanukkah, these earrings would be on the top of my list! Dainty and sweet, they can be worn everyday, even after the Hanukkah season is through. At under $50, they would make for a great stocking suffer.

Gift Guide, Hanukkah, Holidays, Star of David, Winter Style, J. Crew

Every year, I think this is one of my favorite gift guides to share! It helps me think about the holidays in a different light. When shopping for your friends this season, be sure to remember that not every celebrates the same holidays as you and that’s okay!

Gift Guide: Coffee Lovers

Gift Guide: Coffee Lovers

Coffee Lovers, Gift Guide, Coffee, Java, Cup, Christmas, LOFT, NYC Style

Dress || Heels ($45 with KATIE45) || Handbag || Earrings || Bracelet

After a week of sharing all of my New Orleans content, we are back to the regularly scheduled program. I feel like I’ve been slacking on the gift guide front, but there are so many great options out there. For a good chunk of the rest of December, I’ll be sharing guides that I would helpful. Many of them also come as a special request. Since I’m in desperate need of coffee as I’m writing this, let’s chat about gift ideas for the java junkie in your life.

SACRED RITUAL Morning Buzz Coffee Body Scrub

If a cup of coffee won’t wake you up in the morning, maybe an invigorating body scrub will do the trick. Award winning espresso is now a beauty product. Coffee has so many different benefits for your skin, you may want to buy a jar for yourself too!

ANTHROPOLOGIE Folksong Monogram Mug

There’s something so simple about gifting a coffee mug, but when done it correctly it can mean so much! Finding a monogram option is very personal. I simply love these blue and white pieces from Anthropologie. At only $12 it would make for a great stocking stuffer and Secret Santa gift.

DR. BRITE Coffee Stain-B-Gone Teeth Whitening Pen

After years of being a coffee and tea drinker, I’ve started to notice a little staining on my teeth. Who knows, maybe I’m just being paranoid. Regardless, I’ve been dying to try out these whitening pens. It would be perfect to have on hand before an interview or date night, just in case.

MAISON MARGIELA Replica Coffee Break Fragrance

Maison Margiela makes some of the most unique fragrances out there. They are so successful at creating an entire moment with their scents. Even just reading the description, I’m instantly transported to a coffee shop in Stockholm, Sweden. If you know a coffee lover with a nose for perfumes, this would make for the ultimate gift.

NORDSTROM Manhattan Blend Whole Bean Coffee

I know some coffee drinkers who are extremely particularly about what brews they drink. They have a favorite and want to stick with it. David and I are more adventurous with what we sip. I always appreciate trying a new coffee, especially if it’s from a roaster with some kind of significance. This Manhattan blend would be my way of incorporating my current home.

HAFLINGER ‘Coffee’ Slipper

The winter is officially here! One of my favorite Sunday morning rituals is to sit with my morning coffee with a huge blanket wrapped around me. The only thing that would make that mental image better is if I have a warm pair of slippers on my feet.

Coffee Lovers, Gift Guide, Coffee, Java, Cup, Christmas, LOFT, NYC Style
SMEG ’50s Retro Style Coffee Maker

I would have to consider this the splurge on my list. We have a light blue SMEG toaster and I love the retro feeling it brings to our kitchen. With SMEG, you’re going to get both style and quality. Their products come in several different colors to match any style.

CUFFLINKS, INC. Greek Coffee Cup Cuff Links

Don’t forget the coffee-loving man on your shopping list. Coffee cups found at the NYC street stands are iconic in their own right. These cufflinks are a fun and quirky tribute to a city staple.

Coffee Lovers, Gift Guide, Coffee, Java, Cup, Christmas, LOFT, NYC Style

I can’t wait for my next cup of coffee! Be sure to check back all through the month of December for my gift guides. Who knows? You may find the perfect gift for that special someone on your list.

Katie
