The day of the Atlantic-Pacific x LAKE Launch Party didn’t start out so great. I was incredibly busy with work and woke up with a migraine. I felt like I had nothing to wear and was really nervous about not knowing anyone there. Despite all of those things working against me, I couldn’t have been happier to attend. An evening with LAKE was simply perfect and exactly what you would expect from the mind of the great Blair Eadie.

As I took the train from Connecticut to Grand Central and on the 6 to the Lower East Side, I was so happy to be back in the buzz of the city. The venue, The Canary Club, had been on my radar of places to go for awhile, a New Orleans-inspired corner bar that you have to be in-the-know to know where to find it. As I walked down the stairs, the music of an all-female jazz trio, sporting matching LAKE pajamas, set the mood.

It’s hard to envision so many incredibly dressed women all in one space. There wasn’t quite a dress code, but nearly everyone understood the assignment. Think bright colors, eye-catching patterns, and lots of accessories. It was the perfect opportunity to debut my new feathered button-down and coordinating light blue pants. The signature cocktail for the evening was the ROYGBIV. Essentially a Paloma, it had the tiniest bit of a kick for the Gris Gris Magic Jalapeño Hex. As a parting gift, everyone received a bottle and I can’t wait to recreate the concoction at home.

Although my didn’t start of quite how I wanted, I couldn’t have been happier to have made the trip into the city. Sometimes you have to remind yourself to stop looking for excuses and be a doer. After all, there will always be another night to relax and home, but such stunning soirées can be very fleeting.

First off, I want to write about how honored I am to be included in this collaboration. While our new Connecticut Loft is currently a chaos of boxes and unbuilt furniture, receiving my first piece of “fun mail” from LAKE was such a treat. The signature light blue packaging was a welcome sight, but the real fun began inside. Two stunning pairs of pajamas from the new Atlantic-Pacific x LAKE Pajamas collaboration were love at first sight. 

I’ve long been a fan of Blair Eadie and her impossibly effortless style. Associated with bold print mixing and color combinations, this new collection brings the fun back to your sleepwear. After all, more is more. With the scalloped detailing and heart buttons, the Lottie Set was an instant yes for me. Since I work from home, I may be tempted to rock this during my next video call. It’s so prim and proper up top, but still all comfort.

Even more of an honor was an invite to last night’s launch party for the collaboration at the Canary Club in Manhattan. I’ll share more details soon, but the all-female jazz trio in the coziest pajamas and signature cocktail made for a festive evening!

I cannot thank the LAKE team enough for continuing to include me in such incredible partnerships. It was a wonderful experience to mingle with some of my favorite bloggers and a great welcome to our new life in Connecticut. Greetings from Connecticut! We’ve specifically in Norwalk, on the Connecticut coast. Our new home is the shortest walk from the Long Island Sound and I couldn’t be happier about it. The past two weeks have just flown by and included: packing everything we own, selling our house in Florida, taking a cross-country road trip, and settling into our new apartment. The biggest question I’ve been getting recently is, WHY? Why would you possibly trade Florida for Connecticut? 

The thing is, I don’t really have just one answer. There were a lot of factors that contributed to this move… Way too many nuances to fit inside one blog post. While we will miss many things about St. Pete, including our friends, my family, and the nice weather in the winter, David and I were looking for a change. While change can be stressful and sometimes scary, it can also be incredible. Since we said farewell to Florida, it seems like a breath of fresh air, and we have so much to look forward to. Summers along the New England coast? Visiting our friends in the city? Adventures to Newport, Nantucket, and the Hamptons? The very near future looks bright for us, and we couldn’t be more excited!
