Hello blogging world! A few months ago I decided to take a decently long hiatus because honestly… I just need a break. I was feeling pretty uninspired and unmotivated for pictures, writing, and anything else a social media/blogging presence typically throws your way. To start out 2024, I have a pretty drastic overhaul in the works that really be a shift in focus and strategy, but in the meantime I wanted to start getting back in the rhythm of writing and posting. The fact that it’s the start to the holiday season is just an added bonus!

I’m writing today to give a quick highlight of our recent escape to Litchfield County. Although it’s only an hour drive away from our corner of Coastal Connecticut, it feels like a world away. The coastline along the Long Island Sound gives way to rolling hills and the quiet countryside. Our destination was the stunning Mayflower Inn in Washington for breakfast, one of my favorite restaurant and spaces in CT, and a quick visit to Litchfield. I wanted to visit the Sister Parish Design headquarters for a little bit of interior design inspiration, but alas! It turns out they are closed on Sunday. It serves me right for not double-checking their schedule. All that ensures another trip in the not-so distant future, perhaps when New England has transformed into a true Winter Wonderland.
