There is something about New York City that makes it feel especially perfect for celebrations. Maybe it is the energy of the city, the late dinners and long walks home, or simply the feeling that anything can happen over the course of a weekend. When it came time to plan my best friend’s bachelorette, I wanted the trip to feel elevated, classic, and unmistakably New York.

We wanted a mix of iconic city moments and slower afternoons. Broadway and Fifth Avenue, but also coffee walks downtown, lingering dinners, and time to simply enjoy being together. The result was a perfect balance of celebration and city exploring. It was one of my favorite weekends I have spent in New York in a very long time. If you are planning a NYC bachelorette trip, here is exactly how we spent our weekend.

Where We Stayed: The Omni Berkshire Place

One of the most important decisions when planning a New York City weekend is choosing the right hotel. Especially for a group trip, location truly changes everything. We stayed at the Omni Berkshire Place in Midtown Manhattan. I genuinely cannot imagine a better home base for a girls’ weekend in the city.

The hotel sits in one of the most ideal locations, tucked just off Fifth Avenue and within walking distance of so many classic New York destinations. Having such a central location made the entire weekend feel significantly easier and less stressful. We were able to move between neighborhoods without constantly relying on cabs. It gave everyone flexibility throughout the trip.

What I appreciated most about the Omni Berkshire Place was that it felt calm in the middle of one of the busiest parts of Manhattan. Some New York hotels can feel overly chaotic, especially for group trips, but the Omni felt polished in the best possible way. The lobby has that traditional New York hotel atmosphere that immediately makes a stay feel special, and the rooms themselves were surprisingly spacious by Manhattan standards.

For a group of girls getting ready together every evening, the room size honestly made a huge difference. There was enough room to spread out makeup, outfits, shoes, and champagne without feeling cramped, which is surprisingly rare in New York. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the rooms felt quiet despite being in Midtown, and the overall experience felt luxurious while still approachable and relaxed.

Another thing that made the Omni Berkshire Place especially ideal for a bachelorette weekend was how easy it was to regroup throughout the trip. We could come back between activities, freshen up before dinner, grab drinks at Berk’s Bar downstairs, and reset before heading back out into the city. It became more than just a place to sleep. It genuinely felt like our headquarters for the weekend.

If you are visiting New York for the first time, or planning any kind of girls’ trip, I truly cannot recommend this hotel enough. The location, service, atmosphere, and convenience made the entire experience feel seamless from beginning to end.

Thursday: Arrival Day and a Central Park Picnic

We intentionally kept Thursday relaxed since everyone was arriving at different times throughout the afternoon. Instead of immediately jumping into packed reservations and structured plans, we wanted the first evening to feel easy, welcoming, and celebratory without being overwhelming. I even had a chance to pick up my favorite black-and-white cookies from William Greenberg, a local favorite.

After everyone had arrived and settled into the hotel, we headed uptown for an elevated picnic in Central Park with PikNYC. We picked up some of our favorite provisions from Butterfield Market. This ended up being one of my favorite moments of the entire weekend. There is something so quintessentially New York about sitting in the park with champagne, snacks, and skyline views while the city moves around you. It felt relaxed and cinematic in the way New York somehow always does during spring evenings.

One of the things I loved most about staying at the Omni Berkshire Place was how easy it was to get uptown quickly while still being able to return back to Midtown afterward without hassle. The hotel’s location made every part of the itinerary feel manageable, even with a larger group.

After the picnic, we headed back to the hotel where the night continued with more champagne, catching up, and honestly, so many laughs. Those slower moments back at the Omni ended up being just as memorable as the bigger plans throughout the weekend. Everyone gathered in one room while getting comfortable, unpacking outfits, and talking late into the evening, which made the entire trip feel especially cozy and personal.

One thing I would highly recommend when planning a NYC bachelorette weekend is resisting the urge to overschedule the first night. Travel days are exhausting, and allowing everyone time to settle in helped set a much more relaxed tone for the entire weekend.

Friday: Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, and Broadway

Friday felt like the quintessential New York day and honestly, exactly what you picture when imagining a glamorous girls’ weekend in Manhattan.

We started the morning by picking up bagels from PopUp Bagels before spending the afternoon shopping around Midtown. Walking through New York with coffee and bagels in hand somehow always feels like stepping into a movie scene, especially during spring in the city.

One of the absolute highlights of the weekend was afternoon tea at Bergdorf Goodman. We all got slightly more dressed up for tea service, which made the afternoon feel extra celebratory and special. Between the beautiful dining room, the view overlooking Fifth Avenue, and the experience itself, it was a classic New York moments that felt timeless.

After tea, we spent the afternoon shopping along Fifth Avenue before eventually heading back to the Omni Berkshire Place to get ready for the evening. Honestly, some of the most fun moments of a girls’ weekend happen while everyone is getting ready together, and this was no exception. Music playing, makeup everywhere, dresses hanging throughout the room, champagne glasses scattered around. It felt exactly like the kind of New York girls’ weekend we had envisioned.

That evening, we headed to Sardi’s before seeing Death Becomes Her on Broadway. Dinner and a Broadway show feels like one of the most classic New York nights imaginable, especially for a celebratory weekend like this. The show itself was such a great time and made the evening feel especially memorable.

Afterward, we ended the night at Berk’s Bar back at the Omni Berkshire Place for one final round of cosmos. Having such a convenient hotel bar downstairs ended up being another unexpected perk. It gave us a place to continue the evening without needing to navigate another crowded late-night stop.

Saturday: Downtown Exploring and Shopping

Saturday had a completely different energy from Friday, which I think is part of what made the weekend work so well. While Friday felt polished and quintessentially Midtown Manhattan, Saturday leaned more relaxed, downtown, and neighborhood-focused.

We started the morning by exploring Rockefeller Center, grabbing coffee from the Ralph’s and breakfast sandwiches from Black Seed Bagels before heading downtown for the day. It was one of those perfect New York mornings where the city feels especially alive.

One of the most fun surprises of the weekend was that the groom-to-be treated us to a limo ride, which we absolutely used to our advantage for an afternoon exploring the Meatpacking District and West Village. It felt glamorous and playful in a way that perfectly fit the energy of the weekend.

Some of our favorite stops included stocking up on beauty favorites at C.O. Bigelow and grabbing candy from BonBon Swedish Candy, which honestly felt like the perfect girls’ trip activity. If you are downtown and need a quick lunch, I recommend stopping at L’Industrie because it lives up to the hype.

We even squeezed in a sample sale visit before heading back to the Omni Berkshire Place for a fast turnaround to get ready for dinner. Again, having a centrally located hotel made this so much easier. Even after spending the day downtown, getting back to Midtown to change and regroup never felt inconvenient.

That evening, we headed to St. Theo’s for dinner, which remains one of my favorite pasta spots in the city. From there, we ended the night with drinks and dancing at Happiest Hour before eventually making our way back uptown. Somehow, we made it back to the hotel just in time to watch Saturday Night Live before finally calling it a night, which honestly felt like the perfect ending to a very New York Saturday.

Sunday Morning and Heading Home

By Sunday morning, the weekend had officially started winding down. The girls had early flights home, and while everyone was definitely tired by that point, there was also that feeling of not wanting the weekend to end quite yet. One thing I especially appreciated was how seamless the Omni Berkshire Place made departures feel. Being centrally located in Midtown made airport transportation much easier, especially with different flight times and luggage.

It was so special getting to share my favorite city with such an amazing group of girls. New York always feels magical, but especially when experienced with people you love. One of my favorite things about the city is how different it feels on Sunday mornings. The pace softens, the streets quiet down slightly, and everything feels calmer after a busy weekend. It ended up being the perfect way to close out the trip.

Love from NYC,
Katie
